The Cat's Creep is a staircase that was introduced in Mortal Engines. It leads from Tier Three to Tier One.[1]
Description[]
The Creep is a leftover staircase from the early days of London, when elevators weren't always working.[1] The door that hides it is located in the wall near the natural history section. From its long shaft, wind and the rumbling engines of London can be heard. There are five hundred stairs up to the halfway point of it, and they meet at Tier One.[2] The stairs ends in a small circular chamber with a single metal door that can be opened with a key, and numbers stenciled into the sweaty walls. It leads into an alley in Paternoster Square.[3]
The Creep is a long, black stretch of spiral staircase that leads into a part of St Paul's Cathedral.[4]

Mortal Engines[]
The Cat's Creep was used by Katherine and Bevis to plant a bomb at MEDUSA's "brain".
Film[]
Katherine mentions to Bevis that the Creep is a leftover from the Scriven era when they are searching for a way into St. Paul's. Chudleigh Pomeroy then directs the two to the Creep, which is located via a secret passage hidden in the walls of the London Museum to find out what MEDUSA is.
