The Gut (or the Great Under Tier, as mentioned by Dr. Crumb), is the area of a Traction City consisting of hangars and harvesting districts where the city's prey is dismantled and looted.
Large cities such as London had heavily automated Guts, with large dismantling machines & conveyor belts to transport salvage.
