A harvester suburb is a suburb built by a city designed to harvest forests for fuel. As with other suburb types, most were built around 600 to 800 TE, the 'golden age of tractionism', to carry away surplus population or assist the city with hunting, mining or simply to get carry away extra citizens to avoid overcrowding.

However, towards the end of the Third Traction Boom, suburbs were being built less and less due to the lack of prey and overall resources for trading. The navigators of the city of Anchorage considered the creation of suburbs if they reach the continent of Northern America.

Harvester Suburbs were re-purposed during the Green Storm War to serve as armoured battle-engines and escorts for the cities of the Traktionstadtsgesellschaft. They were noted for their unpleasant living conditions and viciousness, and were often equipped with heavy armour and a variety of weapons, ranging from Anti-Air Turrets to Sally-Ports.

Ironically, as combat machines Harvester suburbs outlived their initial purpose; it was stated, that after Murnau became static, Kriegsmarshal Von Kobold retained his fleet of harvesters to fight off remaining predators, that threatened to invade his lands.
