Wolfram von Kobold (also known as "Wolf von Kobold") is a male human who was introduced in A Darkling Plain.

He was the mayor of Harrowbarrow and heir to Murnau's leadership before he was killed by Wren, who was defending New London.[1]

Appearance[]

Wolf is handsome, with blonde hair and blue eyes.[2]

Personality[]

Wolf is not a supporter of the Traktionstadtsgesellschaft treaty and he still gets Harrowbarrow to eat smaller towns, saying that when the war was over the bigger cities would be afraid to eat each other and only Pirate Suburbs and towns like his own will survive.

A Darkling Plain[]

He travelled with Tom, Wren, and Theo to the ruins of London. When he discovers New London, he returns to Harrowbarrow and starts driving it towards London with the intent of eating New London and making Harrowbarrow a flying predator. Wren tries to trick him into going down Electric Lane. However, Harrowbarrow survives and continues chasing New London. Wolf meets his end when he is stabbed with a pipe by Wren and falls onto the tracks and is shredded by the drills.

Wolf was indirectly featured in the book, as the Ian McQue cover of A Darkling Plain was featured in the section on the MEDUSA incident. (The cover depicts the scene where Wren, Wolf, and Tom discover the ruins of London.)

Anya is Wolf's mother. He does not seem to like her.

Kriegsmarshal Von Kobold[]

Wolf has a strained relationship with his father.

Wren Natsworthy[]

Wolf liked Wren because her intelligence and coldness. He wished to exploit her naivety for his own gains.
